Bad Days

You’ve had bad days, right?

Yeah, Me Too!

I have them often, either because of the Mental Health issues or the never-ending chronic pain problems.  I won’t dare say that I have more bad days than most, but I have plenty of them.   So if you find yourself wondering why I haven’t posted anything in a few days, it is because I’ve strung a few less than stellar days together.

So please just keep us in your prayers. We’ll keep you abreast of what we’re doing just as soon as possible.

Thanks for everybody’s love and support.

Raising Some Dough!

Earning Summer Cash

Not wanting to mooch off of Mom and Dad, Caitlin and Joshua are trying to raise money.  They have summer activities they need to pay for and items lost in the fire they want to replace.   They are already in the hole (to Jax and me) for swimming lessons and summer passes to the pool.  Their chosen method to raise money is to sell bread products – loaves, rolls, etc.  You might say they are “raising some dough.”

This isn’t new to them.  They’ve both been making bread for a long time.  We’ve made our own bread at our house for years now, and they both learned to do it.  So you won’t be getting experimental bread, you’ll be getting our tried and true recipe for fantastic fresh bread.

Joshua's rolls
They look good, don’t they?

Orders

They would like to find a few regular customers, people who they can provide bread to on a regular basis on certain days of the week (Mr Jones every Monday; Mrs Smith on Tues. and Fri. for example).   It’s available any day of the week except Sunday.   It would be best if they didn’t have more than 4 loaves of bread or 4 dozen rolls on any one day.

One time orders are welcome as well!  They won’t turn anyone away.

For special occasions they would do more 4 per day.  For example, if you have a family reunion this summer and would like 12 dozen rolls, that would be fine with some advance notice.   These would be great for occasions like Memorial Day BBQ, Birthday parties, Thanksgiving dinner, family Christmas Party.

All bread is white bread for now.  As soon as we can get our wheat grinder from Missouri we will be able to offer wheat bread too.

Pricing

One loaf of bread: $5

One dozen rolls: $5

Half dozen rolls: $3

Half dozen cinnamon rolls: $5

2-4 Bread Bowls (for soup): $5  … number depends on the size you want the bowl.

Bread Bowls
Either 2 Large Bowls or 4 small bowls for $5

Special pricing available for larger orders.  If you want a specialty bread, like Italian bread, then make a request and they may be willing to fill it.

Shipping

Neither of these two can drive, so we’re anticipating customers to be local (in the PG area).  We will deliver to you in that area.  If you live outside of PG and want bread (rolls for lunch, or cinnamon rolls for the office maybe), then we will have to make arrangements for pickup (we could meet you near a freeway entrance for instance).

Morning delivery will be most likely.  They will wake up, make the dough, and deliver the breads when they are done baking.  You could have fresh, hot bread in the mornings for breakfast!

Would you like the smell of fresh bread in the morning?

For large special orders we can make arrangements for delivery to other locations.   Again, just give us enough advance notice and we’ll make sure the kids take good care of you.

Order Your Dough Now!

So if you would like a weekly delivery of specially made fresh bread, then order now!  We’ll take orders for up to 4 loaves, or 4 dozen rolls, per day.   You can order by filling out the form below, private message on Facebook, or give us a call at 870-291-1520.  Be sure to tell us which day you’d like regular deliveries on!

Satisfaction guaranteed.  They are kids.  They’ve been known to occasionally forget to add things like salt, or sugar.  So if you get a bad batch then it will be replaced for free.

Payment expected upon delivery.  Cash is preferred.

If you haven’t tasted our manna from heaven before, than a free sample will be provided upon request.

An Entirely Different Species

Julie’s Mother’s Day gift

For Mother’s Day Julie updated all of the photographs on her mother’s mantel.  During the Christmas holiday 2016, Blake had paid a photographer to come take family photos since the entire family was in town.   These photos were available long ago, but no one had printed them out.

All in all they were a good set of pictures.  It is a good looking family and everything seemed normal in the photos.  Until one giant problem was noticed.   We had discovered an entirely new species, and it was captured in the photos.  Look closely below and see if you can see it!

Jensen Family photo 2016 with Penrods

Not the same species!

Did you find it?  If you look closely at the center of the photo you’ll find it.  It is very round, covered in hair (except on top of it’s head), and is wearing a gray T-shirt.  I’m talking about me of course!!

Look at the sizes of the people in that photo, and tell me that I don’t look like I’m an entirely different species!  Look how small my entire family looks next to me.  Either I have giant blood, or they are part dwarf.  Either way, we couldn’t possibly come from the same gene pool, could we?

Further Research

Of course, one photo might be a fluke.  I might have been on a hill.  The others were in a hole.  The angle of the camera just distorted the way I looked.  Of course I’m not some weirdly huge new species, right?

So we decided that we would needed more data.  So we checked out the photo of the ENTIRE family.  Two of the brothers-in-law are fairly tall.  Surely a second photo will prove that the first photo was just an odd picture.   And what we found was…

Entire Penrod Family

… sure enough I must be an entirely new species.

HOLY COW I’M HUGE!!

I’m not sure how it happened, but apparently I’m a really large human being.  I don’t even think I’m particularly tall.   About 3-5x per year I have someone ask me if I’m a bouncer, if I played in the NFL, or some other such thing suggesting that I’m a large intimidating man.   And now that I see these photos, I guess I can begin to understand it.

I still think these photos must be flukes though.  The brother-in-law closest to me is, in my mind, almost as big as I am.   I think the one just over from him, Ben, is actually taller than I am.   Why do I look like the Incredible Hulk?  It can’t all be the weight, can it?

I’ll guess I’ll have to lose the weight to find out!

In the mean time, since it might be the funniest movie clip of all time, I present to you ME, starring in The Avengers!

Running Log 5/15/17

Running Log 5/15/17

Location: Central Elementary School, PG Utah

Task: Complete the “mini-marathon” that the school was putting on as part of a fundraiser.  Complete the 2.62 mile course.

This was Julie’s first ever race.  She finished last in the family, but did fantastic nonetheless.  She completed in just over 25 minutes.

Josh had a bounce back performance after his lackluster Saturday run.   He finished third for the entire course.  There was a 1 mile “shortcut” that others took and they finished sooner.  Josh however did the full 2.62 and only had 2 people finish ahead of him.

The girls all did fine.  Charlee said she wanted to puke when she was done, but Cat and Kristie both seemed chipper.   I’ll update this with their times if they still remember them.   I didn’t write them down.   Nikki stayed with me and the 3 younger boys.

I took GoPro footage of the race, so I’ll try to post that at some later time.
